Our Approach to Mentoring Young Adults

Our mentoring program is designed to support young adults facing challenges in life by providing them with guidance based on their needs and our mentoring life skills.

Initial Mentor-Mentee
Sessions

Mentor and Mentee meet once or twice a week online through teleconferencing.
Mentor shares with mentee how having their own mentor works.
The mentee learns they are in charge, mentor is there to help them avoid dead-ends.

Setting Goals and Rising Above Challenges

Mentor guides mentee to choose three goals to work on.
Identify the challenges to those goals and the first sign-posts of success.
We create a Daily Routine focusing on their goals and day-to-day challenges.
We work on sleep-wake routines, time management, organization and anything else need in school, work and life.

Parent Involvement and
Communication

We encourage parents to communicate with mentor through emails.
Parents share any issues or concerns their child may have overlooked.
Our mentors master communication skills as well as expressing themselves.
We help our mentees learn to manage conflicts in
positive and empowering way.

Academic and Career Support

Mentors provide support in organizing schoolwork.
Teaching mentees how to prep in advance for school tasks.
We help mentees explore ideal career paths..
Mentors help mentees master resumes, cover letters and personal essays.

Gradual Independence
and Continued Success

As our mentees master life skills, we prepare them for graduating our program.
We empower them to face future challenges with confidence.
To successfully navigate any situation that arises.
